And when that time comes, again

Posted on October 22, 2026October 22, 2026 by Johannes T. W.

The antagonists of the soul

Who say there is none

Did not meet the cord that we won.

There was fire in those bones

Burning so

Fiercely that it melted even those who set the match

Burnt like the darkest cocoa of Ile Oluji

And even yet the coal still shone

Had we but time enough and chance

Had we the patience to fan the furnace blast

Had we the tools to build and not burn

Had we seen, that after-moon comes sun

The journey from Illora has been tiresome

The journey through scorched red mother earth lonesome

The turn taken must now lead back home

The man is beaten by rain and sun from the same wind

What does it take to bring back time?

If the clock is right then it says nine

Yet a nine is two lines apart

God in his power did set our lives at extreme ends

In October he lets the rain pour

In another he sends out a burning sun

He sets a heart after another

And then keeps them polar

Some black and some white

But two hands of a clock can still meet at the east

That hot December city where time lost faith and hope,

Twice seen,

Twice loved.

And I will chose that bright sun again and again

The hot, burning, and flaming fire

Its only curse were time and space

My counsellor says give it time and chance again.

Your Grace,

This time, do not let go.
