This is a huge burden for me — I’m having to make a cautious balance between telling you some very interesting things about Bashir and being careful that I do not give Sahara Reporters another story for tonight.
If there’s anything I am about to say that you feel I should keep away from Sahara Reporters, feel free to shout “Honorable Off the mic”
I would try to get quick on this assignment, especially that we may have to wait for Bashir to finish eating before we leave here, that I can tell you takes about a year and a few months. Bashir is one of the slowest eaters in Nigeria. I can’t speak for outside the country.
Let me make a caveat: I’m going to be speaking about Bashir, not sugarcoating him or mystifying the enigma that he already can be.
Let me start with a brief Biography of The Man Bashir Ahmed:
Bashir Ahmad is a Journalist and the Personal Assistant to President Mohammadu Buhari in New Media.
He was born on 10th June, 1991 and hails from Gaya Local Government Area of Kano State.

He was reappointed into the same position in 2019 after President Buhari won his re election bid.
End of Bio. Now let me say a few words outside what is perhaps public knowledge.
The last few days has been one of the favorite days of my life. the wedding of one man, among the few I can say outside my family members, and of course Ayo who’s seated there, that I love and cherish deeply.
And it’s easy to love Bashir. I wasn’t surprised when we were quite a number of us seated on the table for the grooms men, I was expecting two rows.
Bashir is not perfect. Let me read the text of my short note to him on his birthday, when he turned 29, i hope the Chairman permits me to.
I met Bashir about 6 years ago, under the Sam For Nigeria Presidential Campaign: he strolled in and made acquaintances with everyone, from the DG to the Drivers, to the Presidential aspirant, to the security men.
That is classic Bashir for you.
Bashir’s humility and friendliness is what makes his wedding ceremony a melting point. A cluster of people from different works of life, different tribes, different religions and different ethnicities.
Let me also add something: Bashir is the most dogged person I know. He’s a go-getter. He sees nothing as a hurdle too high to climb.
Let me end this with an anecdote from me of our meetings:
We had gathered like we usually do, often at nights to discuss projects, and there were so many important things to discuss, but my dear friend and brother Bashir would not stay focused.
Bashir would often say a few words during our meetings, he’s not like me – a notorious talkative – but you see, this meeting, Bashir would murmur words and laugh and we would ask him what did you say? He’d reply, ban ji ba. Truly Bashir bai ji ba. He was on the phone with Naeeemah.
Bashir dotes on her. We have 24 hours in a day, and I’m sure that Bashir spends at least 6 of those hours speaking with Naeemah. He adores her, and would do anything for her.
Till I am proven wrong, And no one dare do that, the prettiest woman in this hall is getting married to Bash.
Let’s raise our cups— of water, 5 alive, or what have you – and toast to long life, to absolute love, to prosperity, to dreams fulfilled, to a happy and peaceful home and to fruitfulness.
Naeemah, Bashir, I love you both. Happy married life.
What do you think?
