The Hope of Havilah

Posted on October 26, 2018October 26, 2018 by Johannes T. W.

The Hope of Havilah

The six foot river of Havilah flowed through my valley

With its hair wrapped courteously like a bundle of natural roses

Standing tall – as the majestic palm tree

Every strike, perfectly seated in its place

With dull resplendence

A well dug deep for three decades

With water not enough to feed the bleating sheep

Has now overflowed as Noah’s flood

From well to lake

This river now flows

Through my heart’s oceans

In it I may drown –

In peace, fear and love.
